ORLYPLEIN AND BRET

Photographer: Edwin van Eis.
The Orlyplein in front of the Amsterdam Sloterdijk train station is actually a huge roof garden on top of the railroad tracks. The park contains no less than 55,000 perennials and 35,000 flower bulbs. As a result, something is always in bloom and the park’s appearance changes practically every week. You can have a drink or a bite to eat on the Orlyplein, for instance at BRET, which is housed in a bright red building made from shipping containers. You can also visit Amsterdam’s only vineyard here.
